Which country a provider has to be in

Some services can only be done in one country, so Abroadocs only shows providers based there.

Updated 17 October 2026

Some services can only be performed in a particular country, so Abroadocs only shows providers based there:

  • Apostille, notarisation, registry extracts, criminal record certificates, civil-status records and evidence packs — providers in the country the document comes from, because that is where the work is done.
  • Sworn translation and company registration — providers in the country where the document will be used or the company registered, because that country appoints its sworn translators and runs its own register.
  • Certified translation and consular legalisation — providers in any country. A certified translation can be made anywhere, and a legalisation chain involves both countries.

Where a service isn't tied to one country, a provider based where the paperwork is handled is placed a little higher — unless the whole job is digital, when location doesn't matter.

A business that turns up in the wrong country is left out, and the reason is recorded.
