How Abroadocs finds providers

It starts with providers it checked recently, searches the web for more, and re-checks every one itself.

Updated 17 October 2026

For each service you search for, Abroadocs:

  1. Starts with providers it checked recently. Abroadocs keeps a catalogue of businesses that passed its checks before, holding only details they publish themselves. Those that match your service and country, and were checked in the last 30 days, become candidates — but each one's website is opened and checked again before it can be shown to you.
  2. Searches the web if it needs more. If that doesn't produce five good providers, an AI model runs a live web search for more businesses. It can look anywhere providers are listed — official registers, professional associations, chambers of commerce, established business directories and the businesses' own websites — which matters most where a country has no public register. A business reachable only through a contact form is never shown: its own website must publish an email address. Abroadocs reads only public pages — it doesn't log in, fill in search forms, or get round a block or a CAPTCHA.
  3. Checks every candidate itself. The AI's suggestions are never taken on trust. Abroadocs's own code opens each candidate's website and checks it — see What a provider must show before it's listed. If the page the AI pointed at won't load, or doesn't carry the words it quoted, Abroadocs reads one more page on the same website — never on another — before giving up on that provider. A forum post or a public channel that mentions a business is only a lead: the business still has to show everything on its own website before it is listed.
  4. Puts the ones that passed in order, on one list. The provider whose own site shows the exact work most clearly comes first. A provider whose own site names who operates it and publishes a privacy notice carries a mark saying so; that only decides between providers that are equal on everything else, and no provider is left out or flagged for not showing it. See What a provider must show before it's listed and How the order of providers is decided.
