My request says "With a person"

Something needs a human look: an impossible date or a safety concern.

Updated 17 October 2026

Abroadocs passes a request to the Abroadocs team instead of searching when:

  • a date can't be right — a deadline more than five years away, or one Abroadocs can't read as a date (a date that has already passed isn't sent to a person: Abroadocs asks you for the real one),
  • something needs a human look — contradictory details, sensitive personal data, a sanctions concern, an uploaded document too long to read in full, text that looks like an attempt to manipulate the AI, or a request to make a document that isn't genuine.

Abroadocs tells you in a short message that it won't search until someone has looked. A request involving a country Abroadocs doesn't support isn't sent to a person — Abroadocs says so straight away (see Which countries Abroadocs covers).

The request then waits for a person to look at it. During the pilot there is no fixed response time; if it's urgent, write to hello@abroadocs.com with the name of your request.

A request that is simply missing details is never sent to a person — Abroadocs asks you instead. Nor is one where Abroadocs couldn't read your message because the AI service hiccuped: Abroadocs tries once more on its own, and if that fails too it says "I couldn't read that just now — please send it again." and leaves the request where it was. If the whole service is down it says Abroadocs is temporarily unavailable instead.
